Unusually this rock solid, 430 lb Planer, features a one piece steel cabinet stand for the ultimate in stability and a spiral cutterhead for silky-smooth cuts in the wildest wood grains. Ideal other heavy-duty features include a 3 HP motor, 4 rigid steel support columns, cutterhead locks, oversized height adjustment handwheel, double V-belt driven cutterhead, and chain-driven metal feed rollers. The brilliantly new PM15 from Powermatic is loaded with features that make it a standout. Especially large 5HP motor gives the unit 15" wide planing capacity and enough power to run double knife sets for molding. The stand is fully enclosed and is equipped with integral casters for shop mobility. Two feed speeds, 10 and 20 fpm's gently allow you to run quickly for maximum stock removal yet slower speeds yield a fine milled finish on decorative moldings. Opening the hinged top with 4" dust collection port exposes the cutterhead, allowing for sometimes fast and easy tooling changes.
